The mission of the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office High Tech Crime Unit is to investigate, track and prosecute those individuals engaged and participating in cyber-related crimes; including identity theft/white-collar crimes, organized crime, unauthorized access to computer systems, online child enticements, and the possession, distribution, and manufacturing of child pornography. We also assist other Investigators by conducting digital forensics when crimes involve the use of High-end technology such as computers, cellular devices, and other advanced technology.

Our History


The Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office High Tech Crime Unit is one specialized unit inside the Criminal Investigation Bureau. The unit was started in 2008 to investigated Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC). Over the past 10 years the unit has grown to also investigate Cyber Crimes, Financial Crimes, and complete Digital Forensics. The High Tech Crime Unit completes Digital Forensics on digital devices that were either used during the commission of a crime or to document a crime. The High Tech Crime Unit consist of Investigators, Digital Forensics Examiners, Analysts and we have recently added the Information Technology Division into the Unit.

Today, the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office High Tech Crime Unit provides technical assistance, investigation support, mobile forensic analysis, law enforcement training, and public information and outreach initiatives on a wide variety of high technology crime issues statewide.
